Posh boss Darren Ferguson told the Peterborough Telegraph: "Bradley has suffered a freak injury.
“They’ve found another bone has grown in his leg among other things and he will need to stay off his feet for a couple of months.”
It has been something of a frustrating time for Ihionvien since he made the move from Colchester to Peterborough.
The talented youngster netted on his Posh debut as a substitute in an EFL Trophy win at Gillingham, in September.
But he was injured in that game at Priestfield Stadium and has made just five substitute appearances in total for Posh.
Ihionvien made 39 league and cup appearances for Colchester, having emerged from the club’s academy.
