ICONIC pop and ska act Madness has been announced to perform at Colchester Castle Park next summer.
The band have been confirmed to headline what is set to be another spectacular evening at the Colchester Castle Summer Series in August 2025.
The band, known for their iconic blend of ska, pop, and cheeky humour will be supported by The Skints and The Beat ft Ranking Jnr.
With hits like Our House and It Must Be Love, the band from Camden Town became one of the UK’s most successful bands.
Madness emerged in the late-1970s with their debut album One Step Beyond in 1979, which soon became a classic in its genre.
The core band formed as The North London Invaders and went through a break-up in 1986.
In 1992, the band members reconciled and reunited for a number of concerts and continued, much to the delight of thousands of fans.
The band performed in Essex at Audley End House in August this year with Lightning Seeds following the release of the thirteenth studio album.
Over time, the band has expanded their style to include Motown, soul, and British pop influences, as seen on Madness Presents the Rise & Fall in 1982.
Known for their charm, cheekiness, and "dysfunctional family" dynamic, Madness continues to captivate audiences worldwide.
Colchester Castle Summer Series is set to be the largest music event the city has seen in years, with each show welcoming up to 10,000 attendees.
Organisers of the musical spectacle promise to deliver “unforgettable performances in the heart of one of England’s most historic and scenic locations”.
Chris Foreman, Mike Barson, Lee Thompson, Graham “Suggs” McPherson, Dan Woodgate and Mark Bedford will take the stage in Castle Park on August 23.
Other headliners such as Busted, playing August 15, Craig David Presents TS5, playing August 16, UB40, August 17, Texas, August 21, and James on August 22.
More line-up confirmations are yet to be announced.
Tickets for Madness will be on sale starting Friday, November 29 at 9am and ticket prices are yet to be confirmed.
