Fast food fans hoping to be the first to taste Wendy's when it opens in Colchester High Street may be able to snag a free burger.

Wendy’s, the American hamburger brand known for its square hamburger patties, has revealed it will officially open its doors on Thanksgiving.

The restaurant’s move to Colchester was confirmed in April, with bosses announcing its new residence in the former Next store.

Wendy’s doors will open on November 28 at 10.30am, with customers encouraged to visit early for the chance to grab a Dave’s Single made with a quarter pound of fresh British beef.

A host of “irresistible offers” will also be available to redeem in-restaurant via Wendy’s new app.

“We can’t wait to introduce everyone to the Wendy’s difference—fresh, quality ingredients and a menu packed with flavour.

“We’re confident that once you try Wendy’s, you’ll never look back at your old fast-food flame the same way.”

The latest edition to the Wendy’s menu, the French Onion Cheeseburger, will also be available to order in the new Colchester store with a juicy quarter pound of fresh beef, caramelised onions, creamy mayo, and crunchy fried onions on a brioche-style bun.

For breakfast, the Egg Double Stack packs two freshly cracked eggs, melty American cheese, and a toasted buttered bun, while the Frozen Hot Chocolate Frosty blends the iconic Wendy’s Frosty with hot chocolate sauce and fluffy mini marshmallows for “the ultimate winter indulgence.”
