An experienced music producer from Colchester has fought his way back to health after being struck by long Covid.
Rowan Bradley, 32, is one of two million people across England and Scotland who are thout to still be experiencing long-term effects after contracting coronavirus.
Before falling ill with the virus, Rowan led a vibrant life and explored the world as a music producer with a stellar career, travelling frequently and running his own record studio.
His life took a drastic turn as he experienced a range of debilitating symptoms including chronic pain, fatigue, migraines, nausea, visual disturbances and neuropathy, commonly known as long Covid.
Getting a proper diagnosis was a huge challenge and the initial dismissal he experienced from doctors left him in a dark space.
Two years after his diagnosis, Rowan was still desperate to return to his old life and decided to try a medical device called Nurosym.
The earpiece delivers targeted electrical signals to the brain to stabilise and modulate the nervous system.
Luckily, the device did help Rowan, as he said: “Nurosym put me to sleep on my first day; it pulled me down into the bed like a guided meditation. I thought this can't really be real... but it is.”
Rowan is realistic about his full recovery and has acknowledged that his device has not cured him, but given him back some freedom.
