A FESTIVE Christmas light trail is lighting up the Essex University for the first time.
Festive revellers are being welcomed to a special first-of-its-kind light trail at the Colchester campus at Wivenhoe Park.
The public is being invited to book tickets to enjoy the unique trail which is being organised by the University’s Student’s Union (SU).
Visitors to the SU Festive Light Trail will be able to experience a whole host of illuminations along the route including neon light arches, giant mirror balls, fairy light tunnels and illuminated trees with a festive playlist getting everyone into the Christmas mood.
Visitors will also be able to enjoy festive food and drinks with mulled wine, the Greedy Vegan food truck, and marshmallows by the fire all on offer.
Students’ Union President Lily-May Cameron said: “Our SU team has been working so hard on this.
“It's going to be a really magical event for everyone, bringing lots of festive cheer.
“Students and staff will be able to enjoy it earlier in the week and then we're really excited about offering the public the chance to come to enjoy the trail.”
The trail starts from the Silberrad Student Centre plaza and is open from 4pm to 8.30pm on Friday, December 6.
Free parking is available nearby in the Valley Car Park.
Tickets are £7.50 and children under-three go free.
