FLEETWOOD Town boss Charlie Adam says his team will need to match Colchester United's efforts when the two sides meet tomorrow lunchtime.
And the former Liverpool and Glasgow Rangers midfielder is expecting a competitive fixture, at Highbury Stadium.
Colchester travel to play Fleetwood for the first time since 2015 when the clubs do battle in League Two (kick-off 12.30pm).
Adam told the Fleetwood Town website: “They (Colchester) have drawn a lot of games this season.
“They play a 4-4-2, 4-2-3-1, and we know they will be aggressive in their press and will ask us questions with the long ball.
“They have good footballers in MID and it will be a competitive fixture.
“We need to match their efforts and stand up to what they will bring to the game.
“Danny Cowley has had a good career in management, from non-league to where he is now, especially that time with Lincoln.
“He’s had two big jobs but it hasn’t worked out the way he would have wanted it to be.
“They have been a club in League Two for a while, but they’ve had to stabilise things but we know they are competitive and that’s what we will get to see come Saturday.”

Fleetwood’s game against Colchester will be their first league fixture in three weeks, following recent postponements.
“You can go too long without a game, but my lads are ready,” added Adam.
“The intensity in training has been very good and the habits we have alongside the competitiveness within, it was there to be seen but it’s all throughout the squad.
“Even as coaches, we are chomping at the bits to go this weekend. We will be ready and prepared for this weekend’s match against Colchester.

“The lads enjoy coming to training, but they enjoy playing on a Saturday afternoon too.
“As a coach, you can only pick 11 players to start, but that’s why training is important.
“It’s a busy period and there are loads of games to come around Christmas. Your season evolves around it, and if we can go on a good run, the table will start to take shape.
“We aren’t far off – yes we have had injuries and had to bring in younger players, but all those have done well, and they’re getting better on a weekly basis.
“We have three games in hand now to get in the mix for the New Year.”
