A COLCHESTER primary school has had to shut its doors today as part of an “emergency closure”.
Hazelmere Junior School, in Hawthorn Avenue, Colchester, is closed today due to “site issues”.
The school has been listed in Essex Council’s emergency closure list due to a sewage leak in one of the school’s toilets.
According to the council website, “it is not safe to open the school until the issue has been resolved”.
Parents and pupils have been informed, there will be no remote education available.
The school has been contacted for a comment.
