HOUSEHOLDERS in Colchester are being given a reminder on recycling through advertising messages on trucks.
Colchester Council has shelled out more than £23,000 on the initiative, which will see slogans fixed to refuse trucks making rounds across the borough, giving details of what can be recycled and when.
The messages will be changed throughout the year as the trucks have a frame fixed to them that enables the signage to be replaced to say different things.
Colchester Council’s street and waste services portfolio holder Tim Young said: “These vehicles are very visible signs of Colchester in action and why people pay council tax.
“Here is an excellent opportunity to use these vehicles to give key messages to the public.”
