PLANS have been put forward for a new junction leading off one of Colchester’s busiest roads.
Colchester Council’s planning committee will consider proposals for a double roundabout on Brook Street.
It would provide access for potential development of land between the site of the former St Mary Magdalen Church at the corner of Magdalen Street and the Essex County Council nursery site in Brook Street.
At present the plot is planted with trees and shrubs.
The double mini-roundabout would be installed along with a road running off across the application site and a retaining wall along the side of the land.
A report due to go before the council said comments were not available from the Highway Authority and Environmental Control has recommended conditions to be imposed to prevent land being contaminated.
The plan will be discussed by councillors at a meeting at Colchester Town Hall on Thursday at 6pm.
