ALMOST £3,000 has been raised for Victim Support in Essex from a sponsored skydive.
Six people, who all work for the criminal justice system, completed tandem skydives in the summer to raise money for the organisation which helps young victims of crime in the county.
Essex Criminal Justice Board secretary Delia Scott, Neil Lightfoot and Nikki Diason, of Essex Police in Chelmsford, Colin Brown, of Chelmsford Prison, Richard Meads, an unpaid work manager with Essex Probation, and Angela Hughes, an associate prosecutor with the Crown Prosecution Service, completed the dive from Old Buckenham airfield.
This initiative was led by the Essex Criminal Justice Board’s Victim and Witness Action Team, which has an ongoing fundraising programme to help Victim Support’s work in Essex.
The skydivers were last week presented with certificates of appreciation when they handed over a cheque for £2,823.40 to Victim Support.
