A SCHOOL teacher who is set to jet off to the other side of the world in the new year will be “sorely missed” by her pupils.

Carolyn Edwards has taught year five and year six pupils at Wix and Wrabness Primary School for nearly four years, but will be spending her last day at the school on Friday.

Miss Edwards and her daughter Tiana will then be preparing to jet off to New Zealand in February where she hopes to get a new teaching post.

Headteacher Lorraine Oldale said she would be missed by everyone at the school.

Ms Oldale said: “Miss Edwards has been a real assett to the school. She works very hard to ensure her lessons are fun and engage the pupils.

“She has arranged a number of visits and visitors to the school over the last four years, which have enhanced the children’s learning.

“She played a key role in the recent Being British street party.

“Miss Edwards teaches with energy and drive, the children are very fond of her and both Miss Edwards and her daughter Tiana will be sorely missed.”

Miss Edwards said: “It is a lovely school and I’m sad to be leaving especially because I have taught the same children for three and a half years.”
