A MAN has been jailed for an attack on another man at his home.

A court heard how Peter Taylor was attacked with a bottle after he was accused of carrying out an assault on another man.

Sean Knocker told a teenager to assault Mr Taylor before he attacked him with a bottle, Chelmsford Crown Court was told.

Knocker and the teenager told police they were not involved when they were arrested later. They said they were elsewhere at the time.

Knocker, 27, and the 17-year-old youth denied charges of wounding and affray but were convicted after a trial last month. Sentence had been adjourned for reports.

Knocker, of Broadlands Way, Colchester, was jailed for two years. He also got another 21 days consecutive after he failed to appear in court for sentence earlier this week.

Sentence on the teenager was deferred for six months to see if he manages to stay out of trouble. He cannot be named for legal reasons.

The trial heard Mr Taylor was at his home in Docker Court, Colchester, on September 23 last year when Knocker and the teenager arrived at his door and accused him of assaulting another man.

Knocker told the teenager to assault Mr Taylor and he was hit by the youth before Knocker used a bottle to hit Mr Taylor.

He managed to get out of the flat with blood streaming from his head, the trial heard.

Both men were arrested later and the teenager claimed he was not there at the time, saying he had spent the day at a barbecue.

Knocker said he was with his sister that day and was nowhere near Mr Taylor’s home.
