IT was panto time for pensioners as youngsters popped in for festive fun.

Children from Roach Vale School, in Colchester, performed their Christmas play, Whoops-a-Daisy Angel, for residents at Salter Court, off Colchester’s Balkerne Hill.

Teacher Esther Eddy’s class go along every year to provide some Christmas cheer.

Her grandmother, Naomi Scrivener, is a resident at Salter Court.

“I always ask them to come,” said Mrs Scrivener.

“We are all a bit elderly but they always come and entertain us for the afternoon.

“We had a wonderful time and they did too.

“We are grateful for them coming all that way – it’s quite a walk – but they enjoyed it and Father Christmas gave them all a little bag with some toys and sweets.”
