TWO policemen revived a heavily-pregnant woman who had collapsed.
PCs Martin Brooker and Gary Cable used skills they learnt while training as firearms officers to come to the aid of the mum-to-be.
They were patrolling in Berechurch, Colchester, when they heard an urgent call for police to assist paramedics at a home in Queen Elizabeth Way. When they arrived ambulance crews were not yet on the scene – so they gave life-saving first aid.
He and his colleague used knowledge from their advanced training to insert a tube into her nose before fitting her with an oxygen bag and mask.
After five minutes the woman’s oxygen levels began to rise and she was semi-conscious.
Paramedics took her to Colchester General Hospital for further checks.
