PUBLIC toilets have been closed for the foreseeable future following a spate of vandalism and graffiti.
Colchester Council officers have decided to shut the toilets at Old Heath Road playing field until further notice because of the damage caused by “persistent” vandalism.
They say the building will remain out of action until funds can be found to keep the toilets maintained to an acceptable standard.
Alternative sites can be found in the nearby grounds of Colchester Cemetery, while newly-refurbished toilets are available in St John’s Car Park and St Mary’s Car Park.
