A PUPIL is hoping to get every school in Essex signed up to a new educational chat website.
Harry Williams, 14, of Cherry Tree Avenue, Clacton, has been in talks with schools throughout the county to get them involved with a new message board.
It would allow pupils and teachers to log into a private, school-specific area to ask and answer questions, chat and swap advice.
Discussions would be moderated by teachers and by Harry.
He plans to create an online space for every school where pupils can discuss their classwork, ask questions or get help from teachers outside of class time.
He said: “You are getting help for homework, and chatting to people out of class, but it is not completely general, and it is educational as well.”
Harry, who studies in year nine at Notley High School in Braintree, said a survey of his year group persuaded him there would be a demand for the service.
Several schools have already entered into discussions about getting involved with the project, including Clacton County High School in Walton Road, Clacton.
He hopes to get more than 40 schools to participate.
