A MAN will be sentenced early next year for trying to kill his brother.
Jason Fines was placed under an interim hospital order after a brief appearance at Chelmsford Crown Court.
The 41-year-old will return to court in February to be sentenced, and the court heard the likely outcome will be a treatment order under the Mental Health Act.
Fines, of Parsons Field, Dedham, was cleared of attempting to murder his brother at an earlier hearing on the grounds of insanity.
He agreed he had attacked his brother Darren Poicher with a knife and stabbed him in the neck, but denied meaning to harm him.
The court heard Fines had been suffering from an acute psychotic disorder at the time of the incident on December 11, 2007.
