IN a tearful 999 call a teenager named two of the three men she claims repeatedly raped her.
The call to police, made by the 18-year-old immediately after she was “chucked out” of the Colchester flat where the alleged incident took place, was played at Chelmsford Crown Court yesterday.
During the call the woman names Lee Stephens and Daniel Guy, who are standing trial alongside James Minors.
She told the operator: “I do not know what to do, I’ve been raped.
“There were three of them and they really hurt me. I do not know one of the names but I know two of them.
“I can tell you which building it is because that’s where I am, but I think they are listening at the window and I do not want them to come out.”
In the 14-minute call, the woman directs police to where she is and blames herself for the incident after sharing a taxi with the men, who she had met during a night out in the town’s bars.
She said: “Yes it’s my fault. There’s nothing I can do against them.
“They are not going to get charged with anything obviously, because it’s just my fault.”
The jury had earlier watched a video of a police interview with the alleged victim, who had suffered bruising to her wrists, arms and ankles.
She described feeling “utterly and totally horrible” at what was happening, and said she tried to push the men away on several occasions.
She said: “I was crying and they were all laughing.”
The teenager struggled with the men after they told her to get out of the flat, where 26-year-old Guy lives, early on the morning of January 18.
She said: “They said to me ‘we are going to put you outside, do you want to go out naked?’ “I put my clothes on and left, but I broke down after going down a flight of stairs.
“Daniel was with me and said don’t cry, but not in a caring way. I got out of the front door and called police.”
Stephens, who is 24 and unemployed, denies two charges of rape and two of sexual assault; 25-year-old building surveyor Minors denies two counts of rape and one of sexual assault; and drayman Guy denies sexual assault.
All deny aiding and abetting rape and sexual assault.
Addresses for the defendants, who all live in the Colchester area, cannot be published for legal reasons.
The trial continues.
