A FORMER Harwich School pupil, who died after a fall from a hotel roof, is to be remembered at a reunion.
James Callendar, 20, died in 1999 while he was at a sporting festival on the Isle of Man.
An inquest a few months later was told he had drank 15 alcopops before the fall.
Now schoolmate Jessica Hood is organising a reunion for those who left the secondary school in 1995 and want to share their memories of James and their time at the school.
She said: “James was friends with just about everybody in the world. He was one of our best friends. He always said he wouldn’t live past 22 and he would die young.
“He was a lovely, lovely, lad.”
Mrs Hood, who now lives in Magdalen Street, Colchester, said that the event would also be a chance for classmates to reminisce about their schooldays.
She said: “We all turned 30 this year, which is a big thing for all of us.
“We’re just interested in finding out what everybody’s doing.”
The reunion will be on October 24 at the Royal Oak, in Main Road, Dovercourt.
Tickets cost £8 and will be on sale on Monday, by e-mailing mol42dontpanic@hotmail.com l A special page has also been set up on the Facebook social networking site for former pupils from James’s year group.
