Our dying town high streets and seaside towns really sadden me.
It’s terrible how high paid chief executives have ruined our high streets with their barmy road parking ideas and pedestrianisation which have failed.
I question why they are allowed to continue without opposition from traders and the public, or are their views ignored?
With sky-high rates draining every last penny out of shops and businesses, the question is why are these county council chiefs still earning so much money?
Everywhere you go, you see new traffic lights with orange covers over them, where hundreds of thousands are spent on a hairbrain idea which make matters worse.
Why did traffic lights get installed in Maldon Road, Witham, by Benton golf course?
It just beggers belief and with reference to Braintree, it’s been going downhill since the market square was altered for more disabled parking and pedestrianisation.
When money is tight, it’s time to cut back not just on services but also on chief executive salaries and any wages over £50,000 in county hall or local authority.
While workers’ hours are cuts or wages reduced or pay rises are frozen, it seems these council wages just continue through boom and now bust, it just does not make sense.
