YOUNG biker friends were involved in a crash which left one with a fractured leg and the other with a broken collarbone.
The teenagers were riding together and had just turned off the A120 towards Earls Colne when the accident happened yesterday, just after 2pm.
The 18-year-old friends, who police believe are local, were near the Marks Hall junction, off Colne Road, Coggeshall. Police closed the road for about an hour while both were taken to Colchester General Hospital.
The one with the fractured leg and suspected fractured pelvis was sedated and flown by air ambulance.
His friend was driven by ambulance. Both are in a stable condition.
Nishan Wijeratne, Essex Police spokesman, said: “Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a road collision in Coggeshall.
“Two motorcyclists struck each other in Marks Hall Road.”
One was riding a black Honda, and the other was on a black and white Apache motorbike.
Anyone with information about the incident should contact police on 0300 3334444.
