TWO new faces are to head up the the Salvation Army in Harwich.
Lieutenants Andrew and Jackie Jarrold are joining the community church, in George Street.
It is the first appointment as Salvation Army officers for the couple, who have spent the past two years training at the charity’s William Booth College, in London.
Prior to their new appointments, Andrew, 50, was a chartered surveyor, and Jackie, 46, was a school caretaker and carer.
The pair, who have two children, are keen to build on the Salvation Army’s ministry in the community.
Mr Jarrold said: “We believe the Salvation Army has a vital role to play in the community, offering support to anyone who needs it.”
The couple worked at King’s College Hospital, in London, while undertaking their theological and Christian mission training.
They have taken over from Captains Barrie and Maria Sampson.
