MONEY raised in the memory of a young cancer victim has been donated by her family to help another Clacton girl, who has a rare and incurable lung disease.

Leala Milleare, lost her long and brave fight against cervical cancer two months ago.

Leala was keen to help little Tatum Kemp and now the Milleare family have donated £1,500 from the Love for Leala fund to help the Kemp family pay for a holiday for Tatum.

Leala met eight-year-old Tatum through a mutual friend at the Plough public house at Great Clacton.

Leala’s mum Jill, said: “Leala met Tatum and said she would love to be able to help her. There was just an empathy between the two girls.

“There was still some money left in the Love for Leala Fund and so we decided to try and help another family. Tatum is a lovely little girl.

“It was a privilege to help them. A holiday is so special for memories.”

Mrs Kemp, of Old Road, said because of Tatum’s breathing problems, the family would be unable to fly, so instead planned a cruise from Southampton.

Tatum needs oxygen 24 hours a day and it is not be available on the NHS once she leaves the country.

Among other things, cash from Leala’s fund will pay for 60 bottles of oxygen for the holiday.

Mrs Kemp said Tatum, who goes to Rolph School, in Thorpe, was excited about the chance to visit different countries.

She said: “She still has regular check-ups at Great Ormond Street and Brompton Hospitals but she just gets on with it.

“She loves anything and everything and tries to do everything. Everything is a struggle for her, but she is so determined.”

Tatum will be going on the cruise with her mum, her dad , Mark, brother, Kourous, 16, and grandma, Jenny Kemp.
