THE big smiles belied the aching feet as pastor David Bavister and his family completed their charity coast-to-coast challenge.
Their 190-mile Wainwright trek raised more than £1,000 for Whispers, a charity which supports Kenyan children.
Mr Bavister, 61, of Richmond Drive, Clacton, presides at churches in Jaywick, Great Bentley, St Osyth ,Weeley and Little Clacton. He was accompanied on the walk by daughters Sarah, 30, and Katie, 27, with wife, Gill, providing back-up. The trio walked an average of just over 13 miles day in rain, wind, mist and sunshine. They set off from St Bees in Cumbria and arrived at Robin Hood’s Bay in Yorkshire 14 days later. Mr Bavister said:” It was a great experience, one we will never forget.”
