A SECOND World War flying boat is to take a starring role at next week’s Clacton Air Show.
The Catalina will take part alongside the Red Arrows, aeroplanes from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight collection, and other classic aircraft.
The flying boat saw service during the war, before being used for aerial firefighting in Canada and the south of France. The Catalina is now based at Imperial War Museum, in Duxford, Cambridgeshire.
Carlo Guglielmi, councillor responsible for community partnerships and renewal at organisers Tendring Council, said: “We have to hope the weather stays fine.”
The show takes place on Thursday, August 27, and Friday, August 28.
