IT’S R’n’B all the way at Route every Friday, and we’re not just talking about the style of music.
That’s because the very astute people at the Queen Street nightclub have recruited one of the county’s top DJ and MC acts to take over their Friday night club evenings.
The duo met three years ago when DJ Rugged joined the team at Zinc nightclub in Southend, where Bald MC had been club resident for a number of years.
Now a firm fixture putting on club nights all over the south of the county, they have moved north to show clubbers up here just what they have been missing all these years.
The pair play what they enjoy most and specialise in urban music such as R’n’B, hip hop, dance hall and funky.
Although as more and more super clubs are finding out, they have a surprising edge when it comes to both chart and underground music as well.
As well as conquering the Essex club scene, DJ Rugged and Bald MC have set up saferadio.com and are about to apply for their FM licence.
DJ Rugged said: “Things are definitely going in the right direction for us and this new night at Route is perfect for spreading the R’n’B word.
“It would be great to do Ibiza and Ayia Napa at some stage, but that’s further down the line for us.”
