SIXTH Forms in Clacton saw improved A-level results across the board.
Colbayns High School had 51 students who sat A-level exams or equivalents.
All candidates gained at least one grade A to E, with an average score of 217 UCAS points – up from last year’s 171. An A is worth 120 points and an E worth 40 points.
The school’s top achievers included David Parlour, who achieved As in economics, maths, general studies and Bs in further maths, law and history.
Rebekah Pritchard attained five grade Bs and Lucy Clifton gained three Bs and two Cs.
Headteacher Nick Pavitt said: “The school is absolutely delighted for the students who have done very well and will now be able to go on to fulfil their ambitions in a career or at university.
“Students have worked really hard. They were, of course, supported admirably by those often unsung heroes – mums, dads and the terrific teaching staff.”
Clacton County High School students celebrated a 97 per cent pass rate – with 60 per cent gaining the coveted A to C grades The average points scored per student was also up on last year.
James Smith, Hannah Luckie, Daniel Richer and Ria Baker all received two As and a B. Katie Foweraker and Beau Robinson both achieved an A and two Bs.
Principal Jeff Brindle said the good results were due in part to the Clacton Consortium, established two years ago to ensure a wide range of courses were available in Clacton.
