WEATHER warning leaflets are being handed out to residents in a bid to make them better prepared.
Tendring Council has joined forces with the Met Office to produce six leaflets covering severe heat and sun, heavy rain, thunderstorms and lightning, dense fog, severe gales and heavy snow and icy roads.
The initiative is being launched by the council’s emergency planning unit.
Giles Watling, councillor responsible for corporate governance and resources, said: “It is our job to ensure we do everything possible to get the correct messages out to people so they are prepared should severe weather conditions strike.”
The leaflets will be available at Clacton Air Show on Thursday and Friday, from the emergency planning unit at Clacton Town Hall and at www.tendringdc.gov.uk
