OASIS fans have been left wondering who they are going to watch instead of their favourite band.
Their replacements, Snow Patrol, have enough anthems to fill a stadium, but many will see them as too similar to Keane, who will headline the Channel 4 stage.
Other choices include the trendy Indie dance band MGMT, or the cult guitar group British Sea Power.
Ian Johnston, 26, said he would probably stick with Snow Patrol on the main stage, but possibly catch some of MGMT.
The afternoon kept pop fans happy, with at one point Alesha Dixon belting out The Boy Don't Listen on the Channel 4 stage while on the main stage James Morrison was finishing with Wonderful World.
A somewhat different audience watched rockers Biffy Clyro follow him, each clad in not much more than a pair of tight jeans.
I'm A Fire went down a storm, as did Saturday Superhouse.
Joining the beach balls flying through the air were were beer cups and other liquids.
Katy Perry has also started her set on the Channel 4 stage, appearing in front of a suitably pink backdrop.
