So a couple from Dovercourt, a Mr and Mrs Labbett, are fed up with people riding bikes on the path.
We can see the police response – we will give them a verbal warning or a fixed penalty fine.
Sorry, but the police should say they will fine anyone riding a bike on a public footpath.
Here in Colchester, I have seen police talking to people who they have caught riding a bike on the path or the wrong way down a oneway street.
As soon as the police are out of sight, they go straight back to what they were doing.
Talking does not work. A fine would stop this unlawful act.
Small children should be allowed to ride on the path for their own safety, but teenagers and adults should not be let off.
