A MOTHER is concerned about the health of her baby after having to live with mould in her housing association property.

Lynda Miller, 22, expressed her frustration that Greenfields Community Housing had not solved the problem at her family’s home in Roding Court, Braintree.

She moved into the property with husband Antony, 24, in March. Ten-week-old Elise was born in June.

Mrs miller said the mould was on the kitchen cupboards, car seats and pushchairs.

She added: “Elise’s nose is always bunged up and I’m not sure if that’s to do with it or not.

“She’s ten weeks now and I think ten weeks is long enough to get them to sort something out, but they haven’t done anything.”

Greenfields visited the property about the problem four weeks ago, she said, but still nothing had been done.

On the first visit, a Greenfields employee said it was a condensation issue caused by the family, but on a second visit, a contractor said it was to do with the way the building had been built.

Mrs Miller said: “I’m not entirely sure what we are hoping for. Just to get it all sorted out so it’s not going to keep coming back, or to be moved.”

Greenfields spokesman Amanda Bhavnani said the housing association was planning a further inspection and carrying out some work today. She said: “We apologise for not keeping the resident fully up-to-date.”
