A CLACTON singer has just finished filming his first movie role.
Gary Curtis, known locally as Gary Wilson, is to make his debut in the British movie, Thugs, Mugs and Violence.
Gary plays Stardust, a rock singer caught up in the London gangland world when £2million of drugs disappears.
Described as a hard hitting movie, with colourful characters, shoot-outs and bloodshed, the film’s theme tune, Hidden Charm, is also performed by Gary. A track from his new album is also featured at the end of the movie, which is due out later this year.
The film has been shot in London and Essex, with some scenes filmed at Elstree Studios.
Gary said: “I’m new to acting and it was really quite scary, but to get a part in this film was just great.”
In the past year Gary has enjoyed two number one hits in the British and Irish country music charts, most recently with a song called Let the Leaves Go their Way. Gary said: “It was also a big surprise when it also reached number 7 in the Euro Christian music chart, alongside artists such as Sir Cliff Rich-ard and Dionne Warwick.”
Gary’s new album, Cut Me Loose, is out next month with plans already afoot to record a follow-up in Nashville next year.
