MAN’S best friends were the stars of a fundraising dog show at the weekend.
The companion dog show at Braintree Rugby Club, in Beckers Green Road, attracted more than 200 dogs and their owners and raised £850 for the Dogs Trust.
Percy the whippet, owned by Kelly Pilgrim from Stisted, was reserve winner, while the overall winner was a doberman from Dagenham.
The event was organised by the Braintree and District Dog Training Association, which is based in John Ray Street, Braintree.
Linda Martin, show co-ordinator, said: “It was a nice, fun day. We could have done with a few more entries. It looked a bit down on previous years. Last year, we had 250 entries.”
