THE combination of world music performed in some of the area’s most atmospheric riverside churches will mark the tenth anniversary of a festival.
The Roman River Music Festival, from October 7 to 11, will be played in churches in Copford, Peldon, Layer Marney, Abberton and Fingringhoe in celebration of the natural world.
Featuring performances from national and international classical, jazz, folk and world musicians, this year’s event will see its first ever folk artist, 25-year-old Bella Hardy. The line-up will include a piano recital from James Willshire and Evgeny Chebykin, who will play Britten’s Serenade with tenor Christopher Lemmings.
Quire and Daisy Jopling will open the festival on October 7 at St Mary the Virgin church in Peldon at 7.30pm.
