A TALENT search is on following a charity gig.
Rock guitarist Robbie Gladwell, formerly of Steve Harley’s Cockney Rebel, played a concert with his friends at St Andrew’s Church, Bulmer.
The success of the event earlier this year, held in aid of Age Concern in Suffolk and Essex, then encouraged Gladwell, Age Concern and a collection of churches to organise a new local talent competition.
The search for the best musicians of all types, who perform either covers or original material, will not only offer a great opportunity for exposure, but raise valuable funds for Age Concern in Suffolk and Essex.
If good enough, the chosen acts will be invited to perform alongside the well-known musicians who make up Robbie Gladwell and Friends.
The competition is not divided into age categories and all types of singers, vocal performers, groups and acoustic singer/songwriters are invited to enter.
There is no charge to those who enter, but there will be a collection for the charities at the auditions, and tickets can be bought for the final concerts.
Auditions for the first event will be this Saturday, with the lucky winners performing at a concert on October 3.
The venue for both the audition and the concert will be St Mary the Virgin Church, Belchamp Walter.
Other venues and events will be announced shortly.
Entry forms can be obtained by e-mailing events2000@hotmail.co.uk A reply will be sent to confirm registrations.
