I believe that the second park and ride scheme will not cause disruption to people who want to travel by train or bus.

If they want to catch a train, then they will.

I reckonMrKay is talking out of his hat (Plans Submitted for Colchester’s First Park and Ride, Gazette, August 19) in thinking that a park and ride will stop people using buses or trains.

Perhaps he’s worried that it might be built near his property.

If people are finding it cheaper to park at park and ride sites than paying for the railway station’s parking fees, then it could make the railways lower their prices, to make it more affordable to train users.

This will also make the town centre more accessable and give us a High Street free from traffic, except for buses and taxis.
