Myland Parish Council organised a fete at the recreation ground in Fords Lane to celebrate its tenth anniversary.
Up to 2,000 people attended and raised more than £1,500, which the council will donate to community groups.
Attractions included a coconut shy, stocks, a bouncy castle, music, stalls and refreshments.
Helen Harris, parish clerk, said: “It went very well.
“There were people there from start to finish and the weather was brilliant.
“A huge amount has changed in Mile End in ten years. The population has doubled and there is lots of building still to take place.
“This was a nice way of bringing the community together.”
