YOUNGSTERS from a crime reduction charity have created a graffiti mural at a hospice. The 12 youngsters from Nacro created the work of art for patients and staff at the St Helena Hospice Day Centre, in Jackson Road, Clacton.

The mural will be displayed on nine large boards in the centre’s car park. Diane Boyd, Nacro’s centre manager in Clacton, said: “We always try to give something meaningful back to our community and decided to choose the hospice as our project in recognition of its amazing work.

“The project will also help raise awareness in young people and possibly encourage them to volunteer at the hospice day centre.”

Saul Ridley, of St Helena Hospice, said: “It has been a great opportunity for the hospice to integrate with the wider health and social care network, and most importantly for some of our patients to meet and discuss really fascinating issues with youngsters who they might normally never come across.”
