LIFE will move at a slower pace for those taking part in a performance art piece in Brightlingsea this weekend.
Drift is an ongoing project by London-based artist Amy Sharrocks in which she takes people on an inflatable boat to float around a swimming pool or an enclosed piece of water.
Amy’s idea of drifting for 15 minutes follows on from her other work inspired by water.
Enabling people to take time out of their busy lives, she has already taken the piece to swimming pools in London, Manchester and Cambridge.
She said: “I’ve been doing this piece for ten years now, but I don’t think I’m ever going to tire of it. Each one is different because of the people involved.
“It is a one-to-one trip and people can sit there and relax or have a chat, it’s up to them.
“We just let the wind and the water take us wherever it chooses to.”
Run through the Colchester Arts Centre, Drift is at the Brightlingsea open air swimming pool tonight and tomorrow from 7pm.
