AN ESSEX Police cop has snapped himself an award after taking an unusual photograph of a crime scene.
Det Sgt Rennie Chivers, walked away with the trophy for crime scene photographer of the year at a national award ceremony.
Det Sgt Chivers, who heads up a team of scenes of crime officers in Clacton, was praised for his entry into the National Policing Improvement Agency’s Annual Forensics Awards.
His offering depicted a forensic technician seen from the unusual angle through a water bottle.
The competition, held each year to award photographs that present policing in an unusual light, saw more than 100 entrants from police staff. Det Sgt Chivers won a new Nikon camera.
