THE mother of a missing Colchester man has made a plea for him to get in touch.

Simon Shotton, 36, was last seen on the morning of Monday, August 3 by a neighbour at his home in Ballantyne Drive, Colchester.

His parents and friends have not heard from him since and, despite inquiries by Colchester police, no one can find any trace of him.

His mum, Susan, 62, who lives in Colchester, said it was difficult to piece together where Simon might be as he led a private life.

She said: “I just want him to let me know he’s OK and he’s alive, that’s all. If he wants to go off and lead another life, I’m pleased for him. I just want to know he’s OK.”

Mr Shotton was a keen sportsman, well known on the local golf clubs, as well as a member of the gym and a regular tennis player.

Mr Shotton is thought to have had a number of friends in both Colchester and Lowestoft, and police are keen to speak to those people.

He changed his name to Shotton after his mother remarried, but has been known to call himself Simon Ullah-Shotton in the past.

Simon is about 6ft 3ins, of medium build and has dark-brown, short hair with grey flecks. He does not own a vehicle Anyone with information should call Colchester police on 0300 3334444.
