Essex County Council tells us we should do all we can to recycle, place out cans, glass, paper, plastic.
It tells us to use a bus or train or walk to save using the car, to save our environment.
It also complains about parents taking their children to school in big 4x4s.
Yet what a hypocrite it is, as on September 1 it started, in partnership with Essex Police, patrolling the A12 to try to keep it flowing more smoothly if there is an accident.
Yet why have they given the police, who will be riding up and down the A12 from 6am to midnight, great big gas guzzling 4x4 Range Rovers?
Why do they need such big cars? Why not use the new hybrid cars that are coming on to the market?
They would get them to where they want to go just as fast.
So it seems to be a case of do as I say and not as I do in the eyes of our council and police force.
