CAMERA crews descended on the historic Harwich Redoubt during a visit to north Essex for the BBC show, Flog It!
The main portion of the show was filmed in Clacton last Wednesday, bringing hundreds of fans out to queueing and get their trinkets valued.
The team went on to film at at the Redoubt, a circular fort built in 1807, for a short section to be included in the programme.
Harwich Society members were on hand to show the film crew and director around and tell them about the town’s history.
Garry Calver from the society, said: “It was an experience for us all. The Flog It! team went out of their way to ensure the Redoubt was seen at its best.
“They recognised it as a remarkable visitor attraction and I’m sure its use on the programme will encourage many more people to visit Harwich.”
The crew spent almost five hours in Harwich, also shooting footage of the Guildhall and Church Street.
Harwich Society member Martyn Monks had a starring role in the redoubt section, dressed in a Napoleonic War officer’s uniform.
A broadcast date for the show, which will also feature an interview with Harwich Society chairman Bernie Sadler, has yet to be announced.
