PEDAL power from France brought seven cyclists to Clacton.
The cyclists, from Tendring District’s twin town of Valence, pedalled 1,060 kilometres to take part in the 40th anniversary celebrations of the link up in Clacton.
The representatives from Valence Cyclists Veterans Club “the Valentinois”, who had an average age of 60, with one cyclist aged 72, arrived at Clacton Town Hall to be received by Stephen Mayzes, the councillor responsible for leisure at Tendring Council, to cheers, applause and flag waving after eight days on the road.
In addition to the cyclists, twinners, dancers and officials from Valence and the district’s other twin towns of Biberach, in Germany, and Swidnica, in Poland, also arrived to join the anniversary celebrations.
