A SURFBOARD was among £1,000 of equipment stolen from a mini-bus in Stanway.
Thieves broke into the vehicle, parked in London Road.
PC Ben Andrews said: “Among the items stolen was a Starboard Carve 121 wind surfing board. It is blue with white decals and has 3ft straps.
“The board is distinctive as it has three areas of damage on the top which have been drilled and filled with black sealant. There is also a dent in the front.
“There was a dark brown windsurfing tail fin, which was attached to the board, and a black mast foot.”
Crime reduction officer Colin Stiff reminded residents never to leave items unattended in vehicles.
He said: “Check doors and windows are locked after every journey, even if you are only leaving the car for a few minutes.”
Police have appealed for anyone with information to call PC Andrews on 0300 3334444.
