A DEVELOPMENT of 36 affordable homes in Clacton has been completed.
Two-bedroom flats, in-cluding six for people with learning disabilities, have been built on a former industrial site, in Old Road.
The £3million project is the first to be finished by the Swan Housing Group and developer ISG Jackson, as part of a £400million scheme to build affordable homes across Essex and east London.
Michael Manning, of ISG Jackson, said the development, which saw a number of derelict buildings knocked down, has played a major role in regenerating the area.
He added: “A key aim of the development was to improve the quality of life for all residents.
“ISG Jackson worked closely with Swan Housing Group to deliver a scheme which includes attractive design and detailing elements.
“The design of the three-storey building reflects the local architecture.”
The development, which was built in partnership with Tendring Council and the Homes and Communities Agency, includes a landscaped communal garden.
