THE family of a teenager who died suddenly at work have planted more trees in his memory.

Tirtharaj and Purna Kumari Limbu marked the anniversary of their son Daniel’s death by planting five new trees at Thomas Lord Audley School.

They joined members of Colchester’s Nepalese Welfare Society to plant four Norwegian maple trees and a honey locust tree, between the student office and School Road.

They also said prayers in Daniel’s memory.

Daniel, who was born in Nepal, collapsed and died in 2007 while he was working in a Colchester shop. An inquest found he died of natural causes.

After his death, his family and the Nepalese Welfare Society planted an avenue of trees near the school’s entrance.

The latest tree planting completes the refurbishment work which took place at the school during the summer holidays.

David Boggis, assistant headteacher, said he was grateful to the Nepalese Welfare Society and the Limbu family for their contribution.

Mr Boggis added: “This was a very poignant moment for the Limbu family, exactly two years since their son’s death.

“We are very grateful for the continued support of the Nepalese Welfare Society for Thomas Lord Audley School.

“Community cohesion is a much talked about Government policy, but here we have the policy in action.”
