Mobile phone giant O2 is pressing ahead with plans for a mast despite accusations of "sheer vandalism" from angry residents.
The company wants to put a 33ft mast in Boadicea Way, Colchester.
More than 100 people have objected to the proposal, claiming it is too close to Shrub End playing field. The mast has also sparked health concerns.
Planners are due to make a decision tomorrow.
