Simon Reynolds of Chapel Hill, Halstead, who attends Witham's Southview School, was playing football with his friends when he collapsed due to cardiac arrest just over two years ago. Simon, who was then 15, was rushed to Great Ormond Street Hospital, London.
Robert Hearn, 16, who used to go to school with Simon, is organising the match at Halstead Town Football Club, Rosemary Lane, on March 21 at 7.45pm.
A team made up of Simon's friends, called Simon's Eleven, and a Southend Youth Development Team will play against each other.
Entry will be £2 for adults and £1 for children. The money will go to a fund for any future equipment which Simon will need. Anyone wanting more information should contact Robert Hearn on 01787 477295.
