Things are certainly on the up for Sport Colchester - so much so that they may need to find a much larger venue to host their awards night next year, according to committee chairman Mark Lloyd.
Lloyd was reflecting on another successful Sports Personality Awards night held in conjunction -with the Evening Gazette and ThisisEssex - at Moot Hall recently where sports clubs and individuals were rewarded for their achievements over the past year.
Paralympic swimmer Natalie Jones scooped the big prize, the inaugural Premier Award.
Lloyd said: "It's the third year we've held the awards in the Moot Hall.
"Prior to that, they were held in the Mayor's parlour - until we needed a larger venue - but we may need a larger location again after how packed out this year's evening was."
